Early data already indicates AI is creating unemployment among our youngest workers according to one of the leading AI companies. Their recently published report offers compelling data and a chart of the sectors and type of workers most likely to be impacted soonest. Yes, Trump is a threat, but this is a looming economic crisis that Trump is only exacerbating and Democratic leaders are nowhere to be found. It’s the plot of Terminator & Mission Impossible and somehow it’s now a real possibility: AI super intelligence wiping out the human race.<\/strong>
Sorry for the doom and gloom but a clear-eyed understanding of what’s at stake is what authors & AI experts Yudkowsky and Soares are fighting for in their book If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies<\/a>. These aren’t alarmist outsiders, but rather AI scientists who have been working on AI since the early 2000s. They are sounding the alarm on the development of AI super intelligence, still not created but the thing these companies are racing towards. Unsure if it’s a real threat? Already in war games, AI escalated to using nuclear weapons 95% of the time<\/a>. This is real. But we can stop it. It will take all of us demanding our elected leaders step in now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can a tech tool change us as humans? Social media has shown us unequivocally yes but the power of AI is so much greater. This compelling NY Times think piece makes the case that AI technology is already short-cutting the way we think, socialize, work and more.<\/strong>
AI technology isn’t just changing, it’s changing us<\/a>, says Klein in a new op-ed. As San Francisco races to adopt AI into all parts of their lives, he questions if we have thought through the security exposure, the personal dependence coming: “cognitive surrender is clearly real, and with it will come the atrophy of certain skills and capacities, or the absence of their development in the first place.” It’s worth reading and considering as we incorporate AI into our everyday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
