New research from Pew<\/a> and Data for Progress<\/a> shows cost of living swamps every other concern for persuadable voters, and Trump\u2019s approval among college-educated suburban women in competitive districts has cratered to 28\u201332%. Those same voters want candidates to go on offense on taxing the ultra-wealthy, not just play defense on Trump \u2014 which means our targeted races have room to lead with affordability. Republicans didn\u2019t lose control of health care costs \u2014 they walked away from the table on purpose.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced ACA subsidies expired at the start of the year, and subsidized premiums are now averaging $1,904 annually, up from $888<\/a>, hitting more than 20 million people right as midterm messaging takes shape. That\u2019s not an abstract talking point; it\u2019s a receipt in every mailbox in a competitive district, tied directly to the Republican vote that let the subsidies lapse- and the economic pain that voters are experiencing every day. This is the affordability contrast to run everywhere on our target list and what we’re attacking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Republican Cory Mills lost his own primary amid assault and misconduct allegations, and Republican Max Miller let the withdrawal deadline pass despite abuse allegations he denies<\/a> \u2014 with Cook Political Report moving his Ohio seat from Likely Republican to Toss Up as a result. Trump himself now says he told Mills to drop out, which tells you the party knows exactly what these races are costing it. Every one of these is a seat where the contrast writes itself and a modest ad buy goes a long way.
