Republican strategists are looking at their own polling and concluding the winning message for Nov isn’t a record to run on \u2014 it’s fear.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An operative close to Trump’s political team told Axios the plan is to make this a \u201chate election\u201d<\/a>, betting voters will dislike Democrats more than they dislike the GOP \u2014 even as the same Republican pollsters privately project Democrats could win the House majority, with Trump’s net approval underwater by double digits, so the goal is disillusionment and hate. Democrats have already flipped a dozen state legislative seats in special elections since Trump’s second term began, and Republicans have flipped zero; analysts are now watching ten Republican-held chambers<\/a>, from the Arizona House to the Wisconsin Senate, for a possible switch in control this fall. Winning the MI House would hand Dems a full trifecta, breaking Iowa’s supermajority would strip Republicans of veto power, flipping three seats in the PA Senate would finally let Governor Josh Shapiro’s agenda move, and we’ve told you before about the flipping 3 seats in MO to break their State House supermajority and protect abortion rights. Voters have already rendered a verdict on this election, and it isn’t close: by a two-to-one margin, they say their vote is against Trump, not for anyone else.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new Pew Research Center survey<\/a> has Democrats up six points on the generic ballot and shows Democratic voters are nearly twice as engaged as Republicans \u2014 39% say they’ve thought a lot about the election, compared with 22% of the GOP. But the same poll finds voters split almost evenly on which party they trust more on the economy, and Congress’s favorability is sitting at a near-record-low 25%, which means anti-Trump energy alone won’t convert into seats without candidates and a message people can actually vote for, not just against. That’s the exact gap between rage and results FTS exists to close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
