Get Out of Your Bubble.
There’s plenty of outrage so we aren’t going to do that. Instead, we’re creating a place with new tips, tools, insights, sources, and stories that can help us understand how to win this November.

Time to celebrate! The Liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate dominated in this week’s election win, putting Republicans back on their heels with an astounding win.
Judge Chris Taylor didn’t just WIN, she dominated. “71 of the 72 counties… shifted away from the GOP and its extremist platform. This includes 19 counties, 18 of which are rural, that flipped from red to blue.” On top of that, the 3 Republican stronghold counties, so called “WOW” counties, saw the O, Ozaukee County, go blue, “a milestone in Wisconsin politics.”

Billionaires are controlling our politics through dark money, and expecting the rest of us to do nothing about it.
It’s not just Republicans. The billionaire class, Democrats included, are using dark money to control which candidates and initiatives get funded and supported, and which don’t. In fact, data shows Democratic Super Pacs account for a larger share of money raised than even Republican Super Pacs. Don’t assume their voice or preferences are always the same as ours. In fact, this class of donors prefers the rest of us don’t demand the exact sort of radical change we are pushing for. Rather, they have every incentive to keep things as they are. It’s going to take all of us to demand change.

Is it vibes? Or is the economy actually struggling for young people? Yes. And No. And it doesn’t matter, because young people are telling us they are struggling and it is absolutely impacting their politics.
While economists argue over whether young people are truly experiencing unique economic pain and unemployment or not, young people are sending a clear message: they feel they are struggling and its affecting everything in their life, including how they vote. 78% of those under 30 voted for Mamdani in NYC, a self proclaimed Democratic Socialist. The leaders catching their attention are speaking to their concerns – from AI to how to afford their lives. So whether its real or just vibes, we need to start listening, says Derek Thompson in this episode of Plain English.

Community is how to solve political depression.
Political depression, caused by the violence, collapse or unjustness of the world around us, isn’t in your imagination. It’s real and growing say an increasing number of therapists and psychologists. But there is a solution: joining in community. “When people volunteer, donate and protest, positive emotions like compassion, admiration and pride sustain their work,” says Ash Sanders in The Guardian. When we ask you to join us in community, join to make change, and join to give yourself hope.

If you like what we’re doing, please share Flip the States with a friend and ask them to sign up so they get analysis and recommendations like these.
